Regional map

Beachfront Kapiti is in the quiet seaside town of Paraparaumu Beach, in the heart of the Nature Coast. Only 45 minutes from Wellington by road (off peak) or 55 minutes by rail, it's an ideal base for a relaxed visit to the region.

The Nature Coast includes the Tararua Mountain Range that runs the length of the coastal strip, with safe swimming beaches and the native bird and plant sanctuary, Kapiti Island.

Paraparaumu map

Driving from the South: Enter Paraparaumu, pass Coastlands shopping centre on your left, then turn left into Kapiti Road at the traffic lights (BP station on the corner)

Driving from the North: Enter Paraparaumu, after the road bridge over the railway line turn right into Kapiti Road at the traffic lights (Mobil and BP stations on the corner)

Continue along Kapiti Road for 3km to a roundabout at the beach. Turn right into Manly Street. After 500m you will come to number 71 on the left, just before you get to the corner shop on your right. It has a small white wall at the driveway entrance.

By rail: The Paraparaumu railway station is 3km away and on a direct bus route. If you are arriving by train we can usually pick you up or arrange an inexpensive taxi. At the other end, Wellington railway station is in the heart of the city and right next to the Westpac stadium.
